| Noble Wimberly Jones Historic Bust A bronze bust of Noble Wimberly Jones, designed by sculptor Kevin Conlon for the Georgia Medical Society will be placed at the east end of Emmet Park in January in honor of the Bicentennial celbration of the founding of the Georgia Medical Society by Dr. Jones. Called "The Morning Star of the Revolution" Dr. Jones immigrated to the Colonial colony in 1733 with this father. He grew up to become a physician, patriot, politician and founder and first president of the Georgia Medical Society. Plaques on the base of the bust will delineate milestones in the 200 year existence of the Medical Society. |
