CUTS/MPO to Host 2009 AMPO Conference

The national Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations (AMPO) recently announced that Savannah has been selected as the site of the 2009 AMPO Conference. The Conference will take place October 27-30, 2009, at the Hyatt Regency, and is expected to bring as many as 300 transportation professionals to the city.

AMPO is a nonprofit, membership organization established in 1994 to serve the needs and interests of Metropolitan Planning Organizations nationwide. Federal highway and transit statutes require the designation of MPOs, which have responsibility for planning, programming and coordination of federal highway and transit investments. CUTS/MPO is the designated MPO for the Savannah urbanized area.
