CORE Connections 2035
Long Range Transportation Plan
Coastal Region Metropolitan Planning Organization (CORE MPO) has initiated the development of the new Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), "CORE Connections 2035," which will look out to the year 2035 in assessing the area's needs and proposing solutions.
Phase One, the Framework Mobility Plan, identifies goals, objectives, and deficiencies and will result in a fiancially-balanced list of projects to address expected future needs. The Phase One plan was adopted in September 2009 and meets all federal requirements for the MPO's long range transportation plan.
Phase Two, the Total Mobility Plan, will include more detailed strategies for implementation, by looking at sub-area and corridor planning, as well as Complete Streets policies. This phase will continue into 2010 and 2011.
Comments
We invite all Chatham County residents to share their visions and ideas for the future of transportation in the area.
