Chatham County Historic Preservation Commission

The Chatham County Historic Preservation Commission (CCHPC) was established in 2005 by the Chatham County Board of Commissioners. It is composed of seven volunteer county residents appointed by the Board of Commissioners. The CCHPC's primary responsibilities are to prepare and maintain an historic property inventory, review requests for historic property and district designations, and review and issue Certificates of Appropriateness (COAs) within Unincorporated Chatham County.

The Commission meets the first Wednesday on a bi-monthly basis, starting in January, at 3:00 p.m. in the Arthur A. Mendonsa Hearing Room at 112 E State St. The meetings are open and the public is welcome to attend and comment.
